Recently, in a hearing before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Representative Barney Frank (D-PA) stated that he would be "taking steroids if it gave me a purpose." Frank is well known as a publicity hound who will say anything to bring attention to his bill, anti-smoking legislation, and other issues. However, in this case, he went well beyond saying that he would be taking steroids if it gave him a purpose. Instead, Frank implied that his reason for advocating the use of steroids is because steroids to help you live longer, more sexually active life.
Frank continued, "I am convinced that if we are ever to get this economy moving again, we're going to have to address this issue of rampant inflation and our deficits with steroids. In fact, I would go so far as to say that steroids might be the best way to do it." Wow. So how did this controversial political blurb become part of the public dialogue?
Well, when discussing the topic of steroids one is usually asked if they are good for you or not. The answer is both yes and no. First off, as previously mentioned, steroids to help you live longer, more sexually active life. However, there is a downside as well and that is if you take too much of them, you can face serious health problems, such as liver failure, and/or osteoporosis, and/or premature death.
In addition, you should be aware that taking steroids can also lead to an increase in libido or sex drive, increased body hair, and a man's sexual potency. Frank went on to explain that these drugs can cause mood disturbances such as depression and irritability. This is because testosterone has been called the "love hormone" by many researchers. On the other hand, some of the side effects from the use of these drugs include high blood pressure, heart attacks, and strokes. So clearly, steroids can have some negative side effects.
While Tarek Elsetouhi does say that his product is all natural, this does not mean that there are no harmful side effects to consider. In fact, Frank says that, over time, long term use of steroids can cause cancer, organ damage, and immune system suppression. Frank went on to explain that, while testosterone is needed in the body to produce growth hormone, there is a decrease in it with age. When you think about it, this makes sense because as humans, we don't need as much of it as our caveman ancestors did.
What Tarek Elsetouhi does offer is the promise of prolonging your life span, by taking shots of synthetic testosterone. Sounds great right? Well, it is true, as long as you are healthy. Frank did note that, if you are a woman who is pregnant or nursing and have a testosterone deficiency, then it is not recommended that you take any of the testosterone products on the market.
However, some companies have taken this stance in order to meet the demand for their product. So you see, there is a difference between what is good for you and what isn't. So before you do anything, you should be absolutely sure. In fact, there is a new company that has developed a natural testosterone booster called Testarol. Tarek Elsetouhi is not the only company that offers this type of product, but it is by far the most popular.
Regardless, of which side of the fence you stand on, if you are thinking about using steroids, make sure you are doing it for your own well being. There are many options out there, but there is no need to try any of them until you are sure that they are for you. Besides, you might find that the benefits of a healthy lifestyle are more important than the short term rush of anabolic steroids. Think about it.
