When Silvio Samuel was diagnosed with testicular cancer, he had his testicles removed and decided to use performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) to gain back some of his lost muscle mass. It is easy to see why some people find this unbelievable, but there are plenty of cases where athletes use performance enhancing drugs after retirement and recover fine. Some of them might have used steroids when they were younger but they no longer have the desire or the motivation to do the same.
When Silvio Samuel started taking steroids, his doctor warned him of the serious side effects these drugs can have on his health later in life. First, it increases your risk of developing cancer. It decreases your immune system. Your blood clots more easily, which can lead to cardiovascular diseases and stroke. You can even develop bone pain or increase the risk of osteoporosis after using steroids.
The main problem is that the steroid causes a drop in testosterone. Testosterone is responsible for growth and balance in our bodies. Without it, we become prone to all sorts of illnesses. If we are exposed to enough cancer cells, then we will die in just a few months.
Silvio Samuel's doctors warned him of the complications that can arise if he continues to take performance enhancing drugs. At first, he denied using steroids. When confronted with the terrible consequences, he finally confessed. The doctors gave him a 5-year suspended sentence, telling him that even though he loves to play football, his health is more important.
The doctors did not want Silvio Samuel to use steroids anymore, since he could seriously harm his health if he does so. He is still required to follow a special diet and exercise. His diet consists mainly of fish, which contains omega 3 fatty acids that have been known to prevent the growth of cancer cells. His diet is also very strict. Only food containing little amounts of protein and carbohydrates are allowed.
Even his urine is tested for traces of testosterone, a hormone that can cause cancer cells to grow rapidly. According to the doctors, Silvio Samuel has inculcated a cancer cell in his kidney. In an attempt to treat his condition, he is taking blood thinners. These medicines have a high risk of bleeding, so they should be taken with great care.
Silvio Samuel is not the only sportsman who is undergoing treatment for cancer. Britain's national tennis player, Andy Murray, is undergoing treatment right now. He has been advised by the doctors to lower the testosterone level of his body. Other athletes, such as cyclist Valerio Lance Armstrong and wrestler Nicklaus, have similar treatments.
While we are waiting for the verdict on Silvio Samuel, we can only hope that his condition will be the result of natural causes. The use of performance enhancing drugs is against the fundamental principles of sportsmanship. If we, as athletes, do not follow the rules, we risk our health and our careers. Our national sporting body, which represents our country, cannot stand by silently while our athletes, such as Silvio Samuel, use banned substances to improve their performance.
Silvio Samuel has a long history of winning. Recently, he lost his challenge at the French open to win the tournament for the world singles. This was a big surprise for the world of tennis players. It is common knowledge that Samuel is an excellent doubles player. His loss to unseeded Andy Murray leaves the door wide open for another strong competitor at the French open, probably someone who is ranked in the top three of the rankings.
It is not proven yet that he used steroids. He has mentioned that he is consulting doctors to find out more about the effects of steroids on cancer cells. Although he admitted that he had taken steroids recently, he refused to give any explanation, saying only that they had been 'consumed naturally'. Many people are suspicious of the fact that he is hiding something.
It is obvious that if he had been using steroids for health reasons, he would have had to have a blood test done to confirm this. Also, he should have had some sort of guarantee from his doctor that he would not use steroids any more in the future. If there is no such guarantee, one wonders how he could be consulting doctors now, let alone trying to convince them that he must have used steroids. It is obvious that he is trying to cover his tracks and prevent further embarrassment.
The fact is that there is no proof that Silvio Samuel is cheating. What we do know is that he may have had a thyroid gland tumor that is very common in the elderly. Thyroid cancer is one of the most common cancers in men, and almost every man over the age of fifty will contract it at one point or another. Silvio Samuel's tumor is very small, probably no bigger than a pea. But still, the odds of it causing cancer are high.
