Jamie Alderton started his training in martial arts at the age of fourteen. He was severely injured in a car crash and for two years had to live with his mother who suffered from arthritis. He wanted to follow his father but didn't have the strength to do so. He enrolled in a martial arts class in his area but before long he gave up on it and began training on his own.
Jamie spent eight years perfecting his martial art skills. He trained in a variety of styles including Tae kwon do, boxing and karate. After closing up shop to open a fitness center, Jamie spent much of his time perfecting his Muay Thai kickboxing. He became very good at it and his friends urged him to venture into personal training. He did and it turned out to be such a great experience. He has followed this path ever since.
Jamie is thirty-two years old and currently runs a school in Whangarei, New Zealand. He teaches both Muay Thai Kickboxing and MMA. He is also involved in several wellness programs that focus on nutrition and fitness. He has trained some of the finest athletes in the world including Usain Bolt and Rashard Lewis.
Jamie loves animals and he is very passionate about the health of them. Many of his students are vegetarian so he strives to get the highest level of fitness possible. He participates in many cross-country hikes, biking trips, and runs. He participates in yoga and Pilates as well. He believes that a body is only as good as its weakest link and so spends a lot of time improving his diet and workouts.
Jamie's diet consists mainly of fish and other kinds of seafood. He also eats fruits and vegetables as part of his daily fitness program.
