So, who else on America's roster of professional mixed martial arts fighters dons steroids? Well, let's start with the obvious. Any guy who has been involved in Ultimate Fighting and has been able to successfully go the distance and win is most likely doing so using them. Just ask heavyweight champion and former WWE star Brock Lesnar, his run in the UFC wasn't nearly as brief as Heath Ledger was in The Saw movies.
Okay, so Phil Heath may have used steroids during his time in the UFC. However, there is such a high degree of scientific evidence now linking him to it that many would say he does so knowingly. After all, former WWE star Ricco Rodman took them after winning the gold medal in 1996. Some steroids (mainly testosterone) are also naturally produced by the body, just like creatine and protein are.
There is an interesting correlation between professional bodybuilders and the use of certain banned performance enhancing drugs, such as testosterone boosters and nandexogenetic agents. In fact, some former probodybuilders have been convicted of steroid trafficking. Additionally, it was also revealed that steroid abusers are more likely to abuse prescription medications, including methamphetamine and steroids. Also, steroids increase the risk of diabetes, hypertension and cancer. As you can see, there is a lot at stake here for the athletes who ingest them or use them in ways that are against their own health.
One of the top performance enhancing drugs in use today is called Aromasin. It is a naturally occurring substance in nature. It was first developed as a synthetic alternative to HGH (human growth hormone) but was rejected by the FDA in 1997 because of the serious side effects that could occur from its use. It is still being developed and is not available in stores yet. One of the side effects of Aromasin is water retention, which is a common side effect for many anabolic steroids.
It is not just water retention that Aromasin has, though. One of the side effects is an increased libido in both men and women, along with a testosterone boost. It is not clear how this works. Perhaps it is due to the fact that testosterone, like Aromasin, is a naturally occurring substance in the body and is converted into the hormone by the liver. It is unknown whether the elevated libido is caused by the testosterone or Aromasin itself.
Other performance enhancing drugs used by bodybuilders include cyclosporine and metformin. These two are widely used by amateur bodybuilders as well as some professional ones. At a recent show to promote a line of bodybuilding supplements called Muscle Tech, a supplement called Phentermine was displayed. Bodybuilders and professional athletes alike have used Phentermine to increase their strength and reduce their weight. So much for natural bodybuilding supplements.
So, what does all this have to do with Arnold Classic? The biggest bodybuilding supplement around at the moment is called PROTEIN. This is a mixture of amino acids that have been shown to help people who are serious about their bodybuilding. This has been proven to cut fat and increase lean muscle mass. If a bodybuilder is serious about his career then he should consider trying a muscle building program such as this one. Please keep in mind that everyone's bodies are different, therefore, it is impossible to know whether a certain supplement will work for you unless you try it.
The bottom line is that there are no proven methods to increase your size without the use of steroids. However, there are proven methods to cut your risk of serious side effects from using illegal steroids. That's why I recommend trying a quality nitric oxide supplement such as the one from Phil Heath. Nitric oxide helps to dilate blood vessels so that more blood can deliver nutrients and oxygen to your muscles. It also helps prevent water retention, which is another serious problem for bodybuilders and other serious athletes.
